Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted his South Korean counterpart, Kang Kyung-wha, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

The two ministers exchanged views on topical issues on the bilateral agenda, and some international and regional problems.

First of all, the counterpart discussed the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the state visit of the Uzbek President to Korea Republic on November 22-25, 2017, in particular, the Joint Statement adopted on comprehensive deepening of the strategic partnership ties and the solid package of US$ 10 billion worth of bilateral accords have lelvated the Uzbek-South Korean dialogue to a new level.

The ministers reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and reviewed the concrete steps in these areas.

The South Korean Foreign Minister informed on her country's efforts to resolve the situation on the Korean peninsula.

The Uzbek side, in turn, welcomed the holding of the inter-Korean summit in April this year and reaffirmed its continued support for the efforts of the Republic of Korea to establish peace, stability and security on the Korean peninsula, emphasizing that the positive outcome of the summit will facilitate further development and prosperity of the South and North of the Korean Peninsula and the entire region as a whole.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Kwon Yong Woo was also present in the meeting.
