Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius will visit Uzbekistan in May, Sputnik reported. This became known following the talks between the leadership of the Uzbek Foreign Trade Ministry and the Lithuanian Ambassador to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow Remigijus Motuzas.

"The sides reportedly discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, issues related to arranging the visit of the Lithuanian FM to Uzbekistan, and agreed to consider the possibility of holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in 2018 in Tashkent," the ministry said.

Uzbekistan-Lithuania inter-parliamentary cooperation group was established in 2013 in the Lithuania’s Seimas, which plays a major role in further expanding ties in the field of parliamentarism.

Uzbekistan exports, plastic and plastic products, petrochemicals, mechanical equipment, cotton fiber, black metal, fruits and vegetables to Lithuania, and imports vehicles, dairy and confectionery products, sugar, chemical fiber, rubber, furniture.
