The Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources has been split into the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water Resources, the ministry said.
Zoyir Mirzaev, who served as Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources sicen December 2016, left the post. He retained the post of Deputy PM - head of the Governmental Complex on agriculture and water resources, processing of agricultural and food products.
According to a government source, Bakhodir Yusupov, former chairman of the Farmers Council and Namangan province governor, has been named as the Minister of Agriculture.
Shavkat Khamroev, the former deputy minister, has become the Minister of Water Resources.
