President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Wednesday, the Uzbek President’s press service reported.
The two leaders reviewed the implementation progress of the agreements reached following the October visit of the Uzbek President to Turkey, of major joint projects in trade-economic, investment, technological, banking, finance, transport, tourism and other important fields.
Erdoğan highly commended the decision taken by the Uzbek leadership to introduce the 30-day visa-free regime for Turkish nationals and expressed sincere gratitude to Shavkat Mirziyoyev for this.
The Uzbekistan leader stressed that this decision was a practical result of the summit meetings, and noted that it will serve to create new opportunities in the trade, economic, investment and tourism areas, and most importantly - to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the fraternal peoples and increase visits by Turkish citizens to Uzbekistan.
The head of Uzbekistan invited the delegation of the Republic of Turkey to the international conference on peace in Afghanistan, to be held in Tashkent in March. Erdoğan highly commended this initiative and expressed full support for its holding and Turkey's willingness to attend at the high-level.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan.
