President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed Measures to Boost Tourists Inflow Decree, which allows tourists coming to Uzbekistan to take photos and film public places and buildings, including Tashkent metro, without any restrictions, with the exception of a list of places which is currently being approved by the Cabinet. Signs will be displayed where appropriate forbidding the taking of photos and filming.
The source in the government said that the list of such facilities has already been prepared by the Committee for Tourism Development and is currently being reviewed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The decree also provides for preparing of a procedure for issuing permission at the request of the State Committee for Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the National Agency UzbekCinema to foreign studios to bring in and use unmanned aerial vehicles, including drones, into the territory of Uzbekistan for the purpose of preparation of photo and video materials on Uzbekistan’s tourist potential.
In addition, it is planned to introduce an updated procedure for temporary accreditation, which, at the request of the Tourism Committee, provides for the issue, within two days, of temporary accreditation to foreign television, documentary production companies, journalists and etc intending to shoot materials on Uzbekistan’s tourist potential, nature, culture, traditions and everyday life of the people.
