The director of the Nuclear Power Plant Construction Directorate Abdujamil Kalmuratov in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel shared details of the single-industry town project for the future nuclear plant workers and their families.
According to Kalmuratov, the new single-industry town, designed 16 km from the plant, will accommodate at least 30,000 people.
According to the master plan, the 100-hectare site will include schools, kindergartens, residential areas, parks, gyms, and a multifunctional medical center that will serve not only residents of the Farish district but also the entire Jizzakh province.
The town will also host a clinic, pharmacies, two hotels with 60 and 100 beds, an ambulance station, a cultural center, and other social facilities. 55 hectares of land are allocated for five- and seven-story residential buildings.
The project includes protection zones, reservoir structures, an power substation, and reserve sites for future houses, and 40 hectares of green space around the town.
During the presentation, the president gave directives that the future single-industry town be designed to be exemplary and modern, and also set the goal of developing nuclear medicine, Kalmuratov concluded.
