Due to New Year celebrations, parts of Tashkent's central streets will be closed to traffic, the city mayor’s office announced today.
From December 15 to January 15 — sections of streets adjacent to the square in front of the National Library:
- Zarafshan Street between the entrance to the Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel and Matbuotchilar Street;
- Istiklol Street between Amir Temur Avenue and Buyuk Turon Street;
- Buyuk Turon Street from the intersection with Istiklol Street to the Youth Creativity Palace.
From December 17 to January 5 — the gastronomic section of Taras Shevchenko Street:
- Taras Shevchenko Street from the intersection with Fidokor Street to the intersection with Nukus Street;
- Sayyid Baraka Street from the intersection with Oybek Street to Amir Temur Avenue.
The office apologized for any inconvenience and recommended that drivers plan their routes given the restrictions.
