President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday chaired the extended meeting at the General Prosecutor's Office.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the work accomplished by the prosecutor's office, its tasks in the light of democratic reforms, the President’s press service reports.

The head of state pointed to the priority tasks of the prosecutor's office,  noting that prosecutors should mobilize all their potential, knowledge and experience for efficient implementation of reforms. Strict enforcement of adopted laws, decrees and resolutions should become the most important and urgent task of the prosecutor's office.

He reminded that the Prosecutor's Office must provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurship, which is the basis for economic growth, to create favorable conditions for foreign investors and to help develop territories.

Improving public administration, based on the interests of our people, requires increasing the role of prosecutors in ensuring the rule of law in society.

Summing up, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that prosecutors should be an example for employees of state bodies, showing high professionalism and the best human qualities in their activities, always stand guard over justice and law.

Otabek Murodov, who previously worked as the State Advisor to the President, was appointed to the post of Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan.
