President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s address to the Parliament marked a new era of awakening in the Uzbek society, the first deputy chair of the Senate Sodiq Safoev said at a briefing at the Legislative Chamber.
“The address has defined Uzbekistan’s new ideology, concept and vision. It has two aspects in my opinion” he said,
“First, it was about genuinely focusing on people’ welfare, human interests and needs, based on national interests and about abandoning lofty rhetoric and empty slogans in our domestic and foreign policies.
Second, it was about speaking about problems, however bitter and hard they may be, giving a true assessment. For many years we had been talking only about our accomplishments, shying away from discussing problems. It's time we make precise diagnoses, without which problems cannot be resolved.”
