President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan  Monday, the Uzbek Presidency website said.

The two leaders noted the importance of implementation of the accords and deals reached following Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Turkey in October.

The sides pointed to the need to continue cooperation aimed at promoting joint programs and projects in trade and economic, technological, financial, investment, transport, as well as tourism and culture fields.

The Presidents exchanged views on the agenda of the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, as well as on other international and regional issues.

The OIC will hold an extraordinary summit on December 13 to discuss the repercussions of the recognition by the United States of America of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Turkey is currently chairing the OIC.
