An 18-year-old man in Ohangaron has been handed an administrative sentence for spreading false allegations of pedophilia against a patrol officer, stated the chief of the Tashkent province police department Bobur Tulaganov.

Reportedly, the young man posted a video on social media accusing the officer of sexually assaulting an underage girl. When summoned to the police station to clarify the situation, he reportedly refused to comply with lawful orders and incited a confrontation. During the investigation, the individual admitted that the information he shared online was fabricated.

The Ohangaron City Court found the man and his two accomplices guilty of violating several articles of the Administrative Responsibility Code, including Article 183 (Criminal damage), Article 194 (Failure to comply with lawful demands of a police officer), and Article 195 (Resisting police officers in duty). Each was sentenced to seven days of administrative detention.

Furthermore, a criminal investigation is currently underway regarding the intentional defamation of a police officer, the dissemination of false information, and group-related property damage to a vehicle.

The incident follows earlier rumors claiming that a patrol officer had taken a 14-year-old girl and her friend to a mountainous area and harassed them. The 18-year-old had claimed to be the girl’s brother while levying the pedophilia charges. After a thorough review, the Tashkent Regional Internal Affairs Bureau debunked these claims as groundless. The Children’s Ombudsman has also noted that they are monitoring the situation.
