The Additional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Ms. Nicola Pollitt, visited Uzbekistan from 9-11 November 2017.
According to the British Embassy in Tashkent, she arrived in Uzbekistan to hold working meetings with the Uzbek government and to attend the International Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Central Asia under the aegis of the United Nations, "Central Asia: One Past and Common Future, Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Mutual Prosperity", held in Samarkand on 10-11 November .
During her visit Ms Nicola Pollitt met Ms Svetlana Artikova, Deputy Chairperson of the Senate, with whom she discussed the reform process underway in Uzbekistan and the future prospects of UK-Uzbekistan bilateral relations.
In Tashkent Ms Pollitt also met with representatives of international organisations, diplomatic missions and academic institutions operating in Uzbekistan.
