Orhan Sivrikaya has joined Uzbekistan Airways as strategic business development advisor, the company said in a statement. The issue of engaging a Turkish advisor was arranged during Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Turkey state visit in October.
Orkhan Sivrikaya, 50, is a doctor of technical sciences, a renowned civil aviation expert, the statement said. Sivrikaya received his Bachelor's Degree by completing Industrial Engineering Department of Bogazici University in 1991 and his Master of Science Degree from Marmara University, Industrial Engineering Department. He held various senior executive roles in Turkey, Europe and North America, in the management and planning of air routes, reviewing business models, managing risks, as well as in marketing and revenue management. Until recently he was the vice-president of Onur Air.
Orhan Sivrikaya started work at Uzbekistan Airways on November 6. He will be advising on the airline's new development strategy, market approach and sales, as well as introduction of ITs.
