Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the visiting State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian federation Grigory Karasin.

The counterparts exchanged views on key aspects of the Uzbek-Russian ties and noted with satisfaction that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Russia in April 2017 and the extensive highest level negotiations opened a new, dynamic phase in interstate relations.

It was noted that the talks between the two leaders expanded the scope of mutually beneficial ties in the trade-economic and investment fields and allowed to activate direct contacts between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The two ministers also touched upon the regional and international issues , including the situation in Afghanistan.

On the same day, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosted the next round of high-level bilateral political consultations between the Foreign ministries.
