The fifth meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the SCO member states under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent Friday, UzA said.
The ministers of justice of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the deputy minister of justice of China attended the meeting, the ministers of justice of the SCO observer states - Afghanistan, Belarus and Iran were also present in the meeting.
The counterparts reportedly discussed the issues of stepping up cooperation between the SCO ministries of justice, drafting of a long-term strategy aimed at improving the quality of legal services to citizens and businesses, as well as legal support for investments in the SCO countries.
At the initiative of the Uzbek side, the issues of improving investment legislation, creating legal conditions for facilitating investment and eliminating bureaucratic barriers were discussed.
Among the issues discussed was also the introduction of modern methods of handling appeals from citizens and legal entities. The meeting attendees familiarized themselves with the work of the virtual reception rooms of the President of Uzbekistan.
