Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani yesterday in Tehran, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said. Minister Kamilov reportedly conveyed the warm greetings and sincere respect of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President and the people of Iran.
Abdulaziz Kamilov and Hasan Rouhani discussed the ways to further advance the bilateral ties in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
The sides noted that the meeting between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Hasan Rouhani on September 11, 2017 in Astana helped define the ways to boost bilateral ties in various fields.
Hasan Rouhani noted that Iran is ready to supply resources to meet Uzbekistan’s needs and stressed the importance of holding meetings of Intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Abdulaziz Kamilov said that Uzbekistan is interested in developing trade and cultural ties with Iran and noted that the agreements reached in Astana opened a new page in relations between the two countries.
The sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
