President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Khorezm province on October 14 to familiarize himself with the socio-economic reforms in the province and setting the future tasks.
Thanks to its agriculture, large industrial enterprises, transport and communication system, SMEs, Khorezm province has an important role in the country. The Khorezm branch of GM Uzbekistan, the UzXCMG excavator plant, enterprises of Uztex Chovot, Khorazm Home Appliances, JV Khorazm Sugar offers products that are in great demand both in the local and foreign markets . Despite difficult climatic conditions, farmers of the province grew a rich crop of agricultural crops.
During his last visit on January 27-28, 2017, Shavkat Mirziyoyev set a number of tasks for further development of the province's economy, structural reforms of industry and agriculture, construction of social facilities and improvement of infrastructure, raising the living standards of households.
New enterprises, small businesses, diversified farms have been set up For the past period of time in the province. Promising projects in tourism, textile industry, fish farming, poultry farming, irrigation and others have been implemented. houses, hospitals, schools and palaces of arts have been built, with many more projects still on the way.
President began his trip with familiarizing himself with the completed overhaul of Urgench airport. The airport now has modern terminals, service rooms, retail points, the nearby area is improved.
Later Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the projects being implemented t Khazarasp free economic zone (FEZ), which is located on over 414 hectares, to be expanded in the future. In the new FEZ, it is planned to set up modern capacities for processing, storing and packing agricultural products, producing leather and footwear and haberdashery goods, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, electrical engineering, machinery and automotive products, building materials.
Currently, the FEZ’s boundaries are being delineated with a customs post being erected, gas, water and electricity supply networks, roads and railways, communication lines being arranged. To date, 25 projects have now been confirmed to be hosted in the zone, with over a thousand jobs to be created.
