On September 20, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in an extraordinary meeting of the SCO Foreign Ministers Council in New York.

The Foreign Ministers of China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed the priority areas for further development of the SCO in the context of adherence India and Pakistan as full members.

The foreign ministers exchanged views on the current issues of international and regional policy, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers also considered the prospects for strengthening the SCO's ties with the UN and other multilateral bodies.
