Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today hosted the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain with the residence in Moscow Ignacio Ibáñez Rubio.
The Ambassador presented credentials addressed to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The counterparts discussed the state and prospects for further advancing the Uzbek-Spanish dialogue, and noted that the meeting of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King Philip VI of Spain in Astana on June 9 this year will become a new benchmark for furthering the fruitful and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and will foster the bilateral ties.
In this context the sides considered the practical aspects of the forthcoming contacts between Uzbekistan and Spain at various levels, including between foreign ministries.
The Minister highly commended the fact that Spain will be present at the highest level at the Central Asia: One Past and Common Future, Cooperation For Sustainable Development and Mutual Prosperity conference held under the auspices of the United Nations to be hosted by Samarkand in November.
