The monument to the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was today inaugurated in front of Oqsaroy residence in Tashkent.
The event was attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the first President's widow Tatyana Karimova, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and his deputies, heads and officials of ministries and departments, MPs and the public.
The author of the monument is Ilkhom Zhabbarov, who is also the author of the Monument of Independence and Humanism on Mustaqillik (Independence) Square and the monument to Amir Temur in downtown Tashkent.
