The Anti-Corruption Agency said it found cases of conflict of interest in three more ministries, namely in the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, and the Ministry of Culture, as well as related organizations, the 107 senior officials of which found to be holding stakes at 116 business entities.
In particular, in the Ministry of Transport, 50 employees were founders in 55 enterprises, in the Ministry of Preschool and School Education — 37 employees in 39 companies, and in the Ministry of Culture — 20 employees in 22 enterprises.
The agency sent orders to these departments, and the said officials received warnings. The identified violations of the law are reportedly currently being rectified.
The agency called on public to report cases of corruption by calling 1253 or through the eanticor.uz platform.
According to Article 4 of the Guarantees of Freedom of Business Activity Law, government agencies and their officials, with the exception of certain cases, cannot engage in business activity.
Article 13 of the State Civil Service Law states that civil servants are banned from setting up enterprises or having stakes in them.
Earlier on September 9, almost 400 employees of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Agriculture turned out to be holding shares in 449 companies.
