President Mirziyoyev signed the Additional measures to improve labor migration processes and support persons temporarily working abroad Decree, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations said.
The Decree reportedly aims at increasing the efficiency of the system for managing labor migration processes, facilitate labour migration, reintegrate people returning from labor migration, including providing them with jobs, raising skills and encouraging doing business.
According to the decree, those traveling abroad for temporary work will be reimbursed for the costs of the exam, visa and tickets.
In particular, from June 1, 2024, those registered in the Work Abroad electronic labor migration and going on organized labor migration will be paid compensation:
• up to 3 times the (basic settlement unit) BSU to cover the costs for exams in a foreign language and professional qualifications;
• up to 5 times BSU for expenses related to obtaining a work visa;
• up to 2 times BSU per ticket.
Until September 1, 2024, a 24-hour call center will be created to provide assistance for those temporarily working abroad. International calls will be free.
More financial assistance to fellow countrymen temporarily working abroad and finding themselves in a difficult situation will be provided.
In 2024-2025, it is planned to open representative offices of the Agency in the UK (London), Germany (Berlin), Turkey (Istanbul) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh). The position of labor migration attaché will be added in diplomatic and consular offices of the UK, UAE, Hungary, Germany, Latvia, Poland and Japan.
Private job agencies employment agencies will also be supported.
From June 1, 2024, every firm enterprise that hires those returning from labor migration will get a monthly subsidy in the amount of 500 thousand soums for each employee for a year.
A mobile application will be created for those temporarily working abroad.
By July 1, 2025, an electronic database will be set up that will keep records of persons traveling outside and entering the territory of Uzbekistan.
