President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Additional measures to meet the needs of the public in passenger cars Decree, UzA news agency said. The agency named the decision as "long-awaited."
According to the Decree, until January 1, 2026, the following customs duty rates will take effect for cars manufactured no later than one year at the time of their crossing the customs border of Uzbekistan, with an engine capacity of up to 1,200 cubic meters. cm (HS code - 8703 21 10, 8703 22 10 and 8703 31 10):
- up to 1,000 cu. cm - 0% (now - 15% + 0.4 US dollars/cu. cm);
- from 1,000 to 1,200 cu. cm - 5% (now - 15% + 0.6 US dollars/cu. cm).
It is expected that the total customs duties for cars with up to 1,000 cu. cm engines will decrease from the current 39-43% to 19-23%, for cars with 1000-1200 cu. cm engine - from 44-52% to 30-36%.
