On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the governments of Uzbekistan and Russia approved a road map for advancing trade and economic ties within the framework of the Eurasian Agroexpress project.

The document was signed by Deputy PM Jamshid Khodjaev and Russia Minister of Economic Development of Maxim Reshetnikov, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development said.

The Roadmap was approved as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the two countries in the development of logistics corridors in Uzbekistan.

The document will allow Uzbekistan and Russia to carry out mutual deliveries of agricultural products in an increased volume using accelerated rail transportation along agreed routes.

According to the Roadmap, by the end of 2023, the parties agreed to hold bilateral meetings with product manufacturers and analyze data from shippers on problematic issues in the transportation of goods by full mixed trains.
