Tashkent court made a ruling against a group of persons suspected of kidnapping, robbery and other crimes. One of the members of the criminal group, wearing the uniform of a traffic police inspector, stopped a citizen on the road and kidnapped him. Through extortion, the criminals obtained 7,000 US dollars from the kidnapped man and demanded more money from him.
Reportedly they threatened to cut off his fingers and kill his family members if he did not hand over the money. The victim managed to jump out of the car in which he was transported and call people for help.
According to the ruling of the Almazar District Criminal Court, the defendant, 43, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The other three defendants were also found guilty of committing crimes under Kidnapping, robbery, extortion and car theft charges. A defendant, 26, was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months, a defendant, 42, - to 13 years and 9 months, a defendant, 29, - to 14 years.
