The Central Election Commission at its May 10 meeting approved a decision to announce the start of the campaign for early presidential elections, which are scheduled for July 9.
As deputy chairman of the CEC Bakhrom Kuchkarov said at the meeting, parties must apply for registration of their authorized representatives by May 13 and submit documents for participation in the elections by May 15.
The nomination of candidates by parties is scheduled for May 17-June 1. Candidate registration documents must be submitted to the CEC by June 2. Registration must end on June 6th.
Note: Only political parties are entitled to nominate a presidential candidate. There are five parties registered in Uzbekistan.
