2 large wind farms to be built in Bukhara through installation of 158 wind turbines with a total capacity of 1 GW, with 3.6 billion kWh of electricity to be produced annually.
As part of the construction of 2 large wind farms in the Gijduvon and Peshku districts of Bukhara province, the Saudi Arabian company ACWA Power and the Asian Development Bank signed loan agreements in the amount of 174 million US dollars.
Once commissioned, these plants will be the largest wind energy project in the Central Asia.
Note: Commissioning of 2 wind power plants will help save 1.1 BCM of natural gas annually and to prevent the emission of 1 million tons of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
The power plants are scheduled to be put into operation before 2025.
