Russian AvtoVAZ is pondering the possibility of resuming the assembly of its models in Uzbekistan, the company's president Maxim Sokolov said during a plenary session at the Innoprom. Central Asia in Tashkent.

He added that a new Lada Vesta could be launched at the partner's plant in Uzbekistan.

“Already now, together with our partner, we are actively mulling the plans to restore the assembly of our models. Moreover, it will be the flagship model, the next generation Lada Vesta,” Maxim Sokolov said.

The company also has plans to expand the localization of car production in Uzbekistan. In particular, the possibility of establishing welding and painting is being considered, he said.

In the fall of 2021, Roodell launched a SKD assembly of Lada cars (Vesta SW and XRAY) at the ADM Jizzakh plant in the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone.
