Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the regular meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries, the presidential press service said.

Reportedly, the parties reviewed the ways to further advance the Uzbek-Chinese ties of comprehensive strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation and emphasized that thanks to political will and joint efforts, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented high level.

Foreign Minister Qin Gang conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the importance of thorough preparation for his state visit to China and for the Central Asia-China Summit. They also exchange views on the international and regional agenda.

In recent years, the two-way trade has doubled, the number of joint ventures and projects has tripled, and $11 billion in Chinese investment has been attracted. After the pandemic, with the restoration of regular flights, contacts between provinces, educational, cultural and humanitarian exchanges intensified.

The parties highlighted the importance of the swift implementation of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway construction project, for which technical documentation is currently being prepared,.

They also focused on the need to continue close coordination in matters of a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan and to provide practical assistance to the socio-economic development of this country.
