The Ministry of Transport is negotiating with the Lithuanian authorities on the possibility of transit of trucks through the territory of this country, the Ministry said in a statement.

The Polish authorities have banned since February 21 of the movement of trucks at the Polish-Belarusian Kukuryki-Kozlovichi border crossing. This ban does not affect vehicles registered in Poland and the EU countries.

While, as an alternative, the Ministry of Transport is weighing the uninterrupted movement of trucks through the checkpoints in Lithuania.

The Ministry of Transport also asked national carriers to take into account the current situation for the transportation of goods to European countries.

Earlier, the Kazakh Business Chamber Atameken stated that the introduction by Poland of a ban on the passage of trucks across the Polish-Belarusian border led to millions in losses for Kazakh companies. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Warsaw sent notes with a request to lift restrictions on Kazakh freighters.
