Uzbekistan will send humanitarian aid to Turkiye for victims of the earthquake and a group of rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to help eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster. The relevant order was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, his spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.

Early morning of February 6, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit the southeast of Turkiye. There is a lot of destruction in Turkiye and Syria, people are under the rubble, a rescue operation is underway. The death toll exceeded 900 people, with over 3,000 injured.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev earlier sent condolences to the leader of Turkiye. The Foreign Ministry said that so far there were no reports of dead and injured as a result of the earthquake from among Uzbek nationals.
