The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan issued a statement strongly condemning the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran on January 27.
“We express our deepest condolences to the relatives of the victim and wish a swift recovery to the injured. “We hope that following a thorough investigation of this incident, all those responsible will be brought to justice,” the statement added.
The Iranian news agency IRNA reported that one member of the diplomatic mission was killed and two were injured as a result of the attack. The preliminary investigation showed that the attack was carried out for personal reasons.
