1 million local and foreign tourists visited Samarkand's Registan square last year. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the service in the square’s facilities is organized at a high level.
Scope of works were completed in 2022 to further improve the activities of the Registan square. In particular, unique historical objects found during the restoration and conservation work were presented at the exhibition Historical Pictures of Samarkand at the Tillakori Madrasah.
The current overhaul of the Registan ensemble is carried out in cooperation with the Cultural Heritage Agency. In particular, 75.0 m2 of the northern street facades of the Ulugbek madrasah, 60.0 m2 of the southern street facades of the Sherdor madrasah, 60 m2 of tympanums and panels in the courtyard of the Sherdor madrasah, 25 m2 of tympanums and panels in the courtyard of the Tillakori madrasah were restored.
