Turkish company ŞA-RA ENERJĪ Īnşaat, Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. was awarded the contract for the construction of a 213 km 220 kV transmission line with a proposed cost of $31.89 million.
The Chinese company Xian Electric Engineering has won the tender for the construction of a 72-km 500 kV transmission line with a proposed cost of $14.68 million.
Contracts were signed with the winning companies.
The project is financed by the World Bank and is scheduled to be implementated in 2022-2024.
The project will improve the reliability of power supply to the Syrdarya and Tashkent provinces, as well as Tashkent, reduce the load on the main electrical networks of the Tashkent part of the energy system and bring their throughput in line with future needs, the Energy Ministry said.
