Former Tashkent city prosecutor Ulugbek Qosimov has been appointed acting governor of Surkhandarya province, replacing Tura Bobolov, the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.
Reportedly, Tura Bobolov moved to another job.
Ulugbek Qosimov had served as prosecutor of Tashkent city since 2021. Previously, since September 2019, he worked as the prosecutor of the Ferghana province, before that - the prosecutor of Surkhandarya province (2018-2019), and before that - the Denau district mayor.
Last week, by presidential decree, Ulugbek Qosimov was awarded the title of state adviser to justice, which is equivalent to a major general.
