President signed Measures of state support for organizing the production of electric vehicles Resolution. According to the document, until January 1, 2030:
- electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles produced in the country shall be waived from the recycling fee;
- components of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles imported from abroad, raw materials and materials, equipment and process equipment, including spare parts for service maintenance, shall be waived from paying customs duties;
- during the first 36 months of the loan term, compensation will be paid to cover the part of the interest rate exceeding the interest rate of the Central Bank, but not more than 10 percentage points, on loans not exceeding 1200 times the size of the basic settlement unit (BSU), which are allocated to individuals in national currency for the purchase electric and hybrid vehicles produced in the republic and sold on the domestic market.
Providers of passenger transportation services on electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles shall be waived from paying state duty for a license until January 1, 2030.
Until January 31, 2023, a research laboratory on electric vehicles and their infrastructure will be established at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.
