On December 17, Uzbekistan Airways received the delivery of the fourth long-range aircraft Airbus A321neo (LR). The aircraft, which arrived at the local flights airport in Tashkent, was welcomed with a water arch.
The flight from Hamburg, where one of the Airbus plants is located, to Tashkent lasted 6 hours and 30 minutes. The plane was piloted by the crew - Murodjon Gulomov and Vladislav Argov.
The 188-seat (16 - business class, 172 - economy class) plane has a maximum takeoff weight of 97 tons, and maximum flight distance of up to 6,850 km.
According to the chief of the press service of Uzbekistan Airways, Kamola Ikramova, after the pandemic, passenger interest in business class has been declining, while demand for economy class is growing.
“For the passenger convenience, we decided to purchase economical and low-fuel aircraft. By the end of this year, we will buy another such aircraft. As a rule, new aircraft first makes domestic flights, and after testing they are put on international flights. The fourth Airbus A321neo received today will start operating on international routes after a trial period,” she concluded.
