HIV-infected people will be provided with 22 types of antiviral drugs free of charge. This became known on December 12 during a government meeting chaired by the president.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Health was given an instruction to set up free drug provision for tuberculosis patients, with 40 billion soums to be contributed from the state budget in this end.
Measures have also been identified to expand HIV screening covering 3 million people. The HIV-infected will be provided with 22 types of antiviral drugs free of charge. Relevant officials have been assigned to the issues of supplying provincial centers and inter-district AIDS laboratories, equipping them with modern medical equipment.
He pointed to the importance of improving the skills of primary health care workers in matters of HIV infection, strengthening explanatory work among the population about this disease and its consequences.
