The President signed the Measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of gasoline to consumers in the autumn-winter period and to prevent a sharp increase in its prices Decree.

The Decree orders to agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, the Ministry of Finance and the Antimonopoly Committee to apply from December 10, 2022 to March 1, 2023, as an exception, the zero excise tax rate for AI-80 brand gasoline imported, produced by domestic enterprises and sold by business entities to end consumers.

In addition, inspectorates for oversight over the use of oil products and gas, as well as inspectorates for oversight in the electric power industry under the Ministry of Energy, are being allowed from December 10, 2022 to April 1, 2023, as an exception, to conduct inspections of business entities on the facts of illegal and inefficient use of energy resources without interfering in their financial and economic activities, without the consent of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities.

Also, the above inspectorates were allowed to make submissions to law enforcement agencies on the application of penalties established by legislative acts against officials who allowed excessive losses and theft of gasoline, as well as giving a legal assessment of their activities.

From the night of December 13, Uzbekneftegaz decreased the price of AI-80 gasoline from 6,800 to 5,700 soums, or by 1,100 soums at its filling stations.
