The Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov met with the the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Teresa Ribeiro, Dunyo reported.
The parties exchanged opinions on the ways to further advance bilateral cooperation in all areas of interest to the parties. Minister Norov noted that major changes are being implemented in the field of news sphere improvement that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and a policy course of commitment to ensuring openness and media freedom was being actively pursued based on universally recognized international standards.
He added that close and open cooperation with the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, based on trust and mutual respect, had been developing rapidly over the past years, adding that that it was necessary to implement joint projects aimed at improving the professional skills of journalists, bloggers, press secretaries of state bodies with the participation of foreign specialists and OSCE experts.
The sides expressed interest in joint holding of a series of seminars dedicated to ensuring the rights of women journalists and improving their skills.
