The Iranian Qeshm Air will launch Tehran to Tashkent and Samarkand flights from December 22, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said.
Reportedly, the opening of flights is the result of deals between the leadership of Uzbekistan and Iran, reached during the official visit to Uzbekistan of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi in September this year. In particular, during the visit, a cooperation program of tourism promotion was inked, which is aimed at simplifying a number of visa procedures and enhancing tourist flows between Iran and Uzbekistan.
Direct regular flights will be launched from December 22 on the Tehran-Tashkent-Alma-Ata-Tehran and Tehran-Samarkand-Tehran routes. Flights will be operated on Airbus 320 aircraft, initially with a frequency of once a week. In case of a positive response from passengers, the number of flights will increase.
Founded in 1993 the Qeshm Air is headquartered in Tehran and operates scheduled domestic and international passenger flights, as well as charter flights.
