On the sidelines of the 29th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE in Lodz, the Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov met with the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) Margarita Sederfelt.
Uzbekistan congratulated Margarita Cederfelt on her re-election to the position of the Chairperson in July of this year. The parties discussed the ways to expand cooperation between the chambers of the Oliy Majlis and the OSCE PA.
Vladimir Norov briefed her about the democratic reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, covering almost all spheres. He said that of the main goals of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy is to increase the role of Oliy Majlis chambers and political parties in the consistent conduct of Uzbekistan reforms.
Opinions were exchanged on organizational issues related to holding the autumn session of the OSCE PA in Uzbekistan in 2023. Some international and regional issues were also discussed at the meeting.
