Details of the murder of the local police officer in Tashkent were on December 1 by the offical of the Interior Ministry, Colonel Khamza Makhsumov in a press conference at the Information and Mass Communications Agency.
On November 30, at about 00:50, the police officer arrived at Galaba neighborhood on an urgent call due to a family conflict.
According to him, the officer was called because of a family conflict. When he arrived at the scene, the woman's partner, 30, assaulted and killed him with a knife stabbing twice. Afterwards he fled the scene of the crime. The lieutenant died on the spot.
The man is now facing the Premeditated homicide charege of the Criminal Code.
Later it became known that law enforcement officers detained the alleged killer.
During the press conference, representatives of the Interior Ministry also reported that, 25 police officers were killed in Uzbekistan over the 10 months of this year. Of these, 9 died as a result of a traffic accident, and 16 died in the line of duty.
In addition, 284 police officers received injuries of varying severity.
