Uzbekistan is all set to become a medical hub for CIS countries with support from a leading Indian healthcare provider company Aakash Healthcare LLC which opened and operationalized Aakash Multispecialty Hospital here today.

Aakash Healthcare LLC, an associate company of Aakash Healthcare, has acquired Tashkent’s Asia Med Centre to transform Uzbekistan’s hospital with an Indian ethos combining class and compassion in care. With support from the Uzbekistan government, Aakash Healthcare plans to transform Uzbekistan’s healthcare systems with investment to the tune of $ 10 million in the next few years.

The hospital was inaugurated today (23rd November 2022) in the presence of Chief Guest – His Excellency Mr Inoyatov Amrillo Shodievich (First Deputy Minister - Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan), Guest of Honour - His Excellency Mr. Manish Prabhat (Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan), Special Guest - Mr. Jaloliddin Asamutdinov (Head of the Department of Licensing, Accreditation & Development of Medical Tourism), Special Guest - “Mr. Abdullayev Farxod Ravshanovich” – Hakim: Uchtepa District, Chief Patron - Dr J.C. Chaudhry (Chairman - AHPL) and Dr Aashish Chaudhry (Managing Director – AHPL). The leadership and clinical teams from Aakash Healthcare, India and Tashkent were also in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Inoyatov Amrillo Shodievich, First Deputy Minister - Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said, “The Central Asian region comprises its 'Five Stans' - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. We have maintained a strong relationship with India. Along with other sectors, Pharmaceuticals and healthcare have been major areas of collaboration. Our health system requires reforms in three areas: quality of services, equity in health financing and efficiency in health spending. With quality facilities and services, Aakash Healthcare would help Uzbekistan to become a medical hub for CIS nations.”

His excellency Mr. Manish Prabhat Honourable Ambassdor of India to Republic of Uzbekistan congratulated Dr. J C Chaudhry and Dr. Aashish Chaudhry with all Aakash Healthcare Family on opening of first of its kind Indian Hospital in Tashkent and said that this will bring the high quality of Indian Healthcare to Uzbekistan and will further strengthen the bond of friendship between people of India and Uzbekistan.

The inflow of Uzbek and other CIS patients to India and especially to New Delhi is increasing exponentially. About 8,000 patients come to New Delhi every year for medical treatments and the approximate market size is the tune of $ 30 Million. Uzbek’s majorly have liver issues and nearly a large portion of the population suffers from Hepatitis B and C. The majority of patients come to India for complex surgeries like liver transplants, cancer surgeries, and Neuro and orthopedic procedures. The major focus of Aakash Healthcare LLC would be on Mother & Child, Orthopaedic, Liver, and Kidney diseases among others.

There are many Indian healthcare players operational in various parts of Uzbekistan, but most are offering OPD and mini-surgeries camps or have limited liability tie-ups with existing local hospitals. For the first time, an operational local hospital has been completely acquired by an affiliate company of Aakash Healthcare, India and it will be run like a fully owned Indian hospital maintaining clinical expertise, world-class physical and clinical infrastructure, skills and ethics as per Indian standards with a focus on Quality and Compassion in Care.
