Uzbekistan will purchase 17 aircraft and 2 helicopters from France worth total of 815.3 million euros. The purchase agreements were signed during the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Paris.
The deals stipulate the purchase of 8 A320neo aircraft and 4 A321neo aircraft from Airbus worth of 694.3 million euros, and also of two Airbus H145 helicopters worth 21 million euros.
Minister of Transport istan Ilkhom Makhkamov and Vice President of Airbus International for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Jacques Garrigue exchanged the contract between Airbus and Uzbekistan Airways on November 22 at the French Foreign Ministry.
While, another contract was signed for the purchase of 5 ATR 72-600 aircraft for 100 million euros. This deal was approved by Presidential Decree of October 26 for Silk Avia. The document provided for the purchase of 3 ATR72-600 aircraft of the French-Italian manufacturer in 2022 (based on purchase and leasing) of another 9 ATR aircraft before 2025.
Airbus will also set up a service center for servicing its helicopters in Uzbekistan. The cost of the project is estimated at 14.1 million euros.
