On December 2, the government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution on the establishment of the Japan Digital University in Tashkent, the Ministry of Justice said.

The university will offer programs in the ICT, software development, management of information systems and computer networks, and economics.

The classes will be conducted in the Japanese and Uzbek languages, with tuition fee to determined by the founder, Digital Knowledge company.

Admission to the undergraduate degree in the software engineer program will open from the 2020/2021 academic year, while to the computer graphics program - from the next year.

The university will offer at least 10 scholarships annually for high-performing children from families in need of social protection.

Graduates will receive a diploma of the Uzbekistan and Japanese universities.

The plans to establish the Digital University of Japan were unveiled in January this year. The US$ 5 million project will be implemented by the Japanese company Digital Knowledge.
