The Uzbek film “In Pursuit of Spring” (Bahorni quvib), directed by Mr. Ayub Shahobiddinov, has been selected to be screened at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) being held in Goa from November 20-28, 2025.

IFFI, one of Asia’s most prestigious film festivals, will open on November 20, 2025, marking the beginning of an eight-day celebration of global cinema and storytelling. This year IFFI received an unprecedented 3400+ film submissions from 127 countries. From these, 270+ films from 84 countries will be screened across competitive and curated sections. More than 7500 delegates have registered to participate in IFFI this year.

In Pursuit of Spring is a story of a women – Rahat Shukurova – living in the capital who learns of the death of a person from her past, prompting her to travel to a remote mountain village called Archali. This village holds painful memories for Rahat that continue to haunt her. The film is being screened on November 22, 2025 under Curated Category - Cinema of the World-2025. Director Ayub Shahobiddinov and actress Farina Jumaviya are participating in IFFI.

IFFI remains the only South Asia film festival accredited by International Federation of Film Producers’ Association in the Competitive Feature Films category.
