Romanian Cinema Days were held in Tashkent on December 22-23, 2025. This event was part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace (Panorama Cinema), audiences were shown the film: Warboy by director Marian Crişan (December 22, 2025) and the film: Horia by the director Ana-Maria Comanescu (December 23, 2025).
A large number of spectators attended the opening ceremony of the Romanian Cinema Days, including officials, public figures, youth, and students.
The opening ceremony was moderated by Alexander Pincov, from the Center for the Development of National Cinematography of Uzbekistan.
Romanian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Cristian Ciobanu said: "This year has been very successful. We celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries with various events: an exchange of congratulatory letters between our foreign ministers, my lecture at the Tashkent State University of Economics, an exhibition of paintings and installations at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, and now we are holding Romanian Cinema Days. At the meeting of transport ministers of the EU, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Black Sea region (November 27, 2025, Tashkent), I signed an important document with the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan in the area of road transit. I am also pleased to note the upward trend in our bilateral trade. We can confirm that our ties are strengthening and developing every year."

In his speech, Shukhrat Tursunovich Rizaev, the head of the Cinematography Agency, noted the great interest Romanian cinema generates in Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the promising opportunities for bilateral cooperation in this area in the future. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Shukhrat Tursunovich Rizaev presented the Romanian Ambassador with a commemorative gift in honor of the upcoming centenary of Uzbek cinema, which will be celebrated on December 28, 2025.

The Romanian Cinema Days will be remembered as a highlight of cultural cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
