President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree on awarding the head of the Central Asian MMA Confederation, Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov with a diploma of Kyrgyzstan, Kabar news agency reported.
According to the document, Otabek Umarov was awarded "for his significant contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of culture and sports."
Otabek Umarov was elected head of the Central Asian MMA Confederation in February 2020, and vice-president of the Asian Olympic Council in December in the same year. He is also the first deputy chief of the Security Service of the President of Uzbekistan.
