Ravshan Irmatov has been elected first deputy chairman of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the press service of the NOC reported. His candidacy for this position was proposed by the head of the committee, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov.

Since February 2020, Ravshan Irmatov has worked as First deputy minister of and sports/Vice-president of Uzbekistan Football Association. Last week, by presidential decree, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports was created instead of the Ministry of Sports and the State Committee for Tourism.

“Until now, we have been pursuing the same goal, despite the fact that we have worked in different organizations. I am very glad that from now on we will work together to achieve common goals, for the benefit of the Uzbek sports,” Ravshan Irmatov said.

The first deputy chairman of the NOC will retain the post of first vice president of the Uzbekistan Football Association, which he has held since June 2019.
